Prince:
Parade
"It went along with that movie, 'Under The Cherry Moon', and
I love that movie. Everyone hates it but I love it. I think
it's really one of his best albums. In that period Wendy's sister
Suzanna was engaged to Prince, and she introduced him to everything
from fashion and style, to Led Zeppelin and the Beatles. So
for him, this was the album where he wanted to get some white
influences into it, and I think it's a very good combination
of his earlier funk and more melodic, orchestral, white-ish
type of music." |

The
Beatles: The White Album (30th Anniversary)
"That one has the most songs on it that I like. It's experimental
- production, everything. I like the diversity, that it can
range from 'Blackbird' to 'Helter Skelter'. I love almost every
Beatles album, but that's got the most stuff that I like." |

Kyuss:
Blues For The Red Sun
"When that album came out, it was when I first started playing
guitar, and it was just one of the meanest sounds ever, really
one of the dirtiest and meanest guitar sounds. They were actually
forefathers of that whole stoner rock genre, and a lot of that
whole stoner rock stuff is just blatant copying of what they
did without having the good songs. And on that album there's
some really good songs. Our first album was produced by the
same guy who produced their album, and he did Queens Of The
Stone Age." |

Led
Zeppelin: Led Zeppelin 1 (Remastered)
"I'd grown up with Led Zeppelin as a kid because my dad had
a lot of their records, but then I discovered them myself again.
And I had this videotape of this performance they did, when
they were just starting out, when they were really young, like
19 years old, and I watched that tape just about a million times,
I can't even watch it now because it's broken. It's mainly stuff
on their first album, and it's incredible, I think that's what
rock music should be." |
 |
Jimi
Hendrix: Axis Bold As Love
"It's one of those albums that you can put it on, listen to
it all the way down - except maybe that song that Noel Redding
wrote." |
 |
Elliot
Smith: XO
"It's one of those albums that, when I heard it first, I like
one song, and then two and then three, it was one of those growers.
Which goes for 'Parade' and 'The White Album', they're albums
that remain in your memory, they grow on you, even if maybe
you didn't like them that much when you first listened to them.
I can't really explain it - either music does something to you
emotionally, or it doesn't. And this does." |
 |
Daft
Punk: Homework
"'Homework' is a classic. I'm not really fond of the new single
['One More Time'], but I hear that the new album's quite different
from that. I heard one other track that's completely crazy and
fucked-up." |
 |
Run
DMC: Raising Hell
"Just a really great album." |
